A fatal collision in the rural municipality of Stanley southwest of Winnipeg claimed the life of a 35-year-old man on Thursday, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). The incident occurred at an uncontrolled four-way intersection at Road 17 N. and Road 19 W. when a truck towing a flatbed trailer traveling east crashed with another truck hauling a garbage trailer moving north, resulting in both vehicles veering into the northeast ditch.
The Pembina Valley RCMP received a report of the two-vehicle crash around 11:30 a.m. that day. Emergency responders, including Mounties, local firefighters, and paramedics, swiftly arrived at the scene. Tragically, the driver of the truck pulling the flatbed trailer, a 35-year-old man from Plum Coulee, Manitoba, succumbed to his injuries on-site. The other driver, a 42-year-old man from the rural municipality of Stanley, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. The RCMP has launched an investigation into the crash.
