UK households relying on Freeview for their TV viewing are advised to check their equipment and perform a quick retune due to recent channel changes. Freeview has announced updates, stating that on May 20, 2026, broadcasters are making alterations to their channels. Users are urged to retune their TVs to ensure they have the latest channel lineup.
Changes include the renaming of two channels: Hobbycraft TV on channel 97 is now known as Shop Unlimited, and Great! Romance Mix on channel 61 has been replaced with Great! TV +1. Additionally, there have been adjustments to channel numbers, with Great! Movies moving to channel 62 from channel 61, which is now occupied by Great! TV +1.
Freeview emphasized that channel providers are continually evolving their offerings, leading to channel movements, additions, or removals. The platform aims to provide diverse and engaging content to its viewers.
If the updates do not automatically appear on your TV, manual retuning may be necessary. To retune your TV, access the menu using your remote control, navigate to the setup or installation option, and select a full retune or factory reset. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process and save any newly found channels.
