Consequently, many attendees rely on purchasing food and drinks available at the festival site since bringing in outside food is prohibited.
An individual named Angelina, a British festival attendee, has highlighted the steep prices she had to pay, even for basic amenities such as tap water at the festival grounds, causing astonishment among others.
In a video, Angelina remarked, “Coachella reportedly offers some of the most expensive food among all festivals globally, so I was particularly intrigued by their water prices.” She proceeded to film her surroundings within the festival area, emphasizing the bustling environment rarely showcased in media.
Upon approaching a food truck to buy a bottle of water, Angelina was informed by the vendor that the cost was $8 (£5.91), rising to $8.70 (£6.43) with tax included. Angelina humorously mentioned that she tipped, bringing the total to $9 (£6.65).
Afterward, she visited a water bottle refill station, where attendees could replenish their bottles. Angelina filled hers with tap water, expressing satisfaction after tasting it, calling it “filtered water fresh from the Atlantic Ocean” and rating it a perfect ten.
The video sparked numerous comments, with some questioning the high price of tap water. Coachella’s regulations allow attendees to bring empty water bottles, with restrictions on container materials.
