Addressing the lack of post-movie attention, Page humorously remarked to McCarthy about the pushback he receives for his Canadian identity, subtly alluding to the transphobic uproar that arose when rumors falsely linked him to the role of Achilles.
Several right-wing figures such as Ben Shapiro, Megyn Kelly, and Elon Musk incited controversy on social media over the speculation of a trans man playing Achilles, a narrative debunked by 2SLGBTQ+ advocates when it was revealed that Page was portraying a different character in the film.
