Canada ended the 2026 FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series on a high note by defeating Japan 20-10 in the final at the Takasaki stop to clinch their second title of the season. The top-ranked Canadian team showcased dominance throughout the tournament, sweeping through Pool A and securing victories against China (21-9) in the quarterfinal and Neftchi SOCAR (22-12) in the semifinal. Paige Crozon led the charge with 11 points and eight rebounds in the quarterfinal, while Merissah Russell contributed eight points in the semifinal match.
In the championship game, Canada took an early lead and maintained control until the end, securing a convincing 20-10 win over Japan. Russell was awarded the Takasaki MVP title for her stellar performance, leading the tournament in player value (45.3) and drives (12), while also ranking second in total points (32) and highlights (17).
Despite their impressive showing, Canada will not progress to the Project Redwings Shanghai Final in September, marking the conclusion of their Women’s Series campaign on a positive note.
