“Phoenix Mercury Cruise to 101-69 Victory Over Toronto”

Noemie Brochart and Shay Ciezki each contributed 15 points to lead the Phoenix Mercury to a dominant 101-69 victory over the Toronto Tempo on Saturday night, with six Mercury players scoring in double digits. This win marked the second-largest margin of victory for Phoenix this season, following their 99-66 season opener against the Las Vegas Aces.

In addition to Brochart and Ciezki’s performance, Sami Whitcomb added 14 points, while reserves Marta Suarez and Maddy Westbeld scored 13 and 12 points, respectively. Lexi Held also chipped in with 11 points as the Mercury (14-26) snapped a four-game losing streak.

Alyssa Thomas recorded 12 assists in the game, marking her 11th game this season with 10 or more assists. On the Tempo side, Isabelle Harrison led with 16 points and 10 rebounds, followed by Kiki Rice with 14 points and Laura Juskaite with 10 points. The Tempo (11-29) were without leading scorer Marina Mabrey, who has been sidelined due to an adductor injury for the past six games.

Phoenix took control early in the game, securing a 21-8 lead and maintaining their advantage throughout. They led 27-17 after the first quarter, extended it to 58-35 by halftime, and finished the third quarter with a commanding 88-49 lead.
