Dollyfest, originally planned as a music festival to celebrate Dolly Parton’s 80th birthday, has been reimagined as a tribute to the late singer’s life. Despite Parton’s passing, the “star-studded” event will take place in Nashville and London over two weekends in 2027.
Known as the “Queen of Country,” Dolly Parton passed away at the age of 80, leaving behind a legacy of hit songs like “Jolene,” “I Will Always Love You,” and “9 to 5.” Her estate promises that Dollyfest will be a memorable celebration reflecting Parton’s vibrant personality.
Details about the festival, including specific dates and performers, are yet to be revealed. Organizer Danny Nozell affirmed that the event will honor Parton’s spirit and provide time for fans worldwide to mourn and participate in the festivities.
In addition to Dollyfest, various tributes have emerged posthumously to honor Parton’s contributions. Dollywood, the theme park she founded in 1986, will introduce new attractions in 2027 to commemorate her legacy. Guests will have the opportunity to share their memories and inspirations from Parton at the park’s Wildwood Grove through interactive kiosks.
Sevierville, Tennessee, Parton’s hometown, will launch “In Dolly’s Footsteps,” a city-wide initiative in collaboration with Dollywood. The project will feature walking-tour markers highlighting significant venues in Parton’s life story, such as The Pines Theatre, where she performed her first show at just 10 years old.
