Tesco, with over 360 in-store pharmacies spread across the UK and catering to more than half a million customers weekly, offers comprehensive health support and advice. Amidst busy schedules, seeking health information online can often be overwhelming. Recognizing this, Tesco’s in-store pharmacies provide quick and convenient access to essential health services and products, alongside expert guidance from their pharmacists.
Tom Lye, Tesco’s category director for health and wellness, emphasized the convenience of their pharmacy services, which range from flu vaccinations to weight management programs. The aim is to offer reassurance and aid to customers within minutes of their visit. Additionally, Tesco pharmacists are equipped to prescribe treatments for common conditions like sore throats and UTIs through the NHS Pharmacy First service, eliminating the need for GP appointments.
Moreover, Tesco Pharmacists undergo specialized training from reputable organizations such as Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK, and the British Heart Foundation to address long-term health concerns. Customers can approach pharmacists with Let’s Talk badges for information on cancer, heart diseases, and diabetes, as well as avail of services like blood pressure checks without appointments.
Tesco Pharmacies have administered over 9,000 free blood pressure tests this year alone, demonstrating the impactful health services they offer. Furthermore, Tesco employees can also benefit from the in-store pharmacy services, including access to virtual GP appointments and additional support on various health aspects through the Employee Assistance Programme.
