A wicked child predator who coerced a teenage girl into being his “sex servant” in the US has been revealed as a global offender operating from his brother’s residence. Trevor Fernandes, 41, was sentenced to more than a decade in prison in 2022 for grooming and blackmailing a girl in the US to engage in abusive acts with herself and another child. The arrest was made by National Crime Agency officers in 2020 after the 13-year-old victim reported the abuse in Garland, Texas.
Following his imprisonment, NCA detectives uncovered 15 additional victims targeted by Fernandes while he resided in his brother’s basement. He communicated with teenagers from Canada, Norway, and the US, along with girls in the UK, managing a group on the Kik social media platform. Fernandes posed as a teenage boy to coerce young girls into sending explicit photos and videos, imposing degrading punishments if they disobeyed, such as licking toilet seats and consuming urine.
In a recent court hearing, Fernandes pleaded guilty to 67 new charges, with Judge Townsend describing his actions as some of the most severe offenses of this nature seen by the court. He was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 13 years and eight months. Danielle Pownall, Senior Investigating Officer at the NCA, emphasized Fernandes’ dangerous behavior and the courage of the young girl who reported the abuse, leading to his capture.
Law enforcement agencies in the UK and the US collaborated extensively to ensure Fernandes was held responsible for his crimes, identifying numerous victims worldwide who were subjected to safeguarding measures. Detectives initiated an investigation after the US victim disclosed communication with someone named “Trevor” who manipulated her into sending explicit images. Fernandes was arrested in 2020, and further evidence of his offenses was found on electronic devices seized from his residence.
Through meticulous analysis, investigators discovered additional criminal activities by Fernandes against numerous victims. He faced another set of charges in September 2025, including blackmail, inciting sexual activities with children, and distributing indecent images. The CPS’s Jeanette Smith emphasized the international reach of Fernandes’ crimes and the collaborative efforts to ensure justice for the victims.
