“Canada Shines with Three Medals at Canoe Sprint World Championships”

Canada secured three additional medals at the 2026 ICF Canoe Sprint & Paracanoe World Championships in Poznań. Sophia Jensen and Brianna Hennessy both earned their second medals of the event, while the women’s C4 crew clinched a bronze medal.

Jensen claimed silver in the women’s C1 200m race, finishing just 0.50 seconds behind the gold medalist from Ukraine. Earlier in the championships, Jensen had won a gold medal. Hennessy also excelled, winning silver in the women’s VL2 200m event. This marked her second podium finish in the competition. The Canadian paracanoe athlete now boasts two medals from two races.

The women’s C4 crew comprising Katie Vincent, Zoe Wojtyk, Sloan MacKenzie, and Elizabeth Desrosiers-McArthur secured a bronze in the C4 500m race. China took the gold in this event, with Hungary settling for silver. Canada continues to impress with its strong performance at the championships.
