Armani Deshawn Lyons was under the care of a 71-year-old babysitter when emergency responders were alerted to a shooting at an Atlanta apartment. The authorities received the call around 12:37 a.m. on April 5, in the vicinity of the 900 block of Washington Street SW, as reported by the Atlanta Police Department.
Upon arrival, responders found the young child with a gunshot wound and rushed him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The 71-year-old babysitter is currently in custody, while another suspect remains at large.

Barbara Edwards was apprehended on April 13, facing charges including Cruelty to Children, Murder, and Possession of a Firearm by a convicted Felon. Meanwhile, Jermaine Hardeman remains at large.
