Iranian embassies have openly mocked President Donald Trump for his association with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein soon after he declared a temporary truce with Iran.
Shortly before Trump’s ultimatum to Iran, where he warned of dire consequences if a deal was not reached, he revealed on Truth Social that a two-week ceasefire agreement had been reached between the two nations, hinting at the reopening of the Hormuz Strait. Following this announcement, online ridicule targeted Trump for allegedly backing down from his threats towards Iran.
Both the Iranian Embassies in Bulgaria and Tajikistan took jabs at the president, insinuating that the conflict was a diversion from the Epstein scandal.
The Iranian Embassy in Tajikistan posted an Epstein meme, sarcastically thanking Trump for diverting attention, while the Iranian Embassy in Bulgaria shared a meme captioned “Pray to Epstein!” showing high-ranking officials, including Trump, gathered around Epstein.
The ceasefire follows the launch of Operation Epic Fury by the US and Israel against Iran on February 28, leading to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and a subsequent rise in fuel prices. Prior to the conflict, numerous documents related to Epstein were made public by the Department of Justice.
Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing in connection with Epstein, with no law enforcement accusations or investigations implicating him. However, several European leaders mentioned in the Epstein files have faced repercussions, including resignations and arrests.
Amid speculation that the military action in Iran was a diversion from the Epstein scandal involving influential figures, Trump’s administration maintained that their objective was to dismantle the Iranian regime and prevent nuclear weapon development.
